Job costing & P&L
What each move really cost. Not what the quote assumed.
Moveezi costs every move from what actually happened: the hours your crew records in the Field app at each person's rate, the trucks at theirs, the expenses and supplier bills posted to the job and its share of any freight it travelled on. Set against the price the customer agreed, that is the margin the move really made, shown beside the margin you quoted.
Illustration. Your own moves and costs fill the real one.
Every quote has a margin. Almost no move has one worked out.
A quote is built on an estimate: so many hours, so many people, one truck. Then the job runs long, a third packer gets called in, the access was worse than the survey said, and the storage supplier's invoice turns up three weeks later. Each of those lands somewhere different: a timesheet, an expense claim, the accounts inbox. By the time anyone adds them up the month has closed, and the kind of work that loses money goes on being quoted exactly the same way.
Where the cost comes from
Real costs, posted to the move. Not the estimate copied across.
The cost of a move is added up from records your team already creates while doing the work, so the P&L needs no extra data entry and no month-end reconciliation to exist.
Crew time from the Field app
The crew leader's times in the Field app (left the depot, arrived, break, left the site, back at the depot) set the paid day, and anyone who clocks their own hours keeps them. Each person is costed at their own hourly rate, and the move is re-costed each time those times are saved, not at month end.
Trucks by the hour or the day
Vehicles and equipment on the job are costed at their own rate, hourly or per day, so a truck priced by the day still costs the move what it costs you.
Expenses and supplier bills
Expenses submitted, approved or paid against the move count. So do supplier bills awaiting payment, part paid, paid or overdue. Drafts and voided ones do not, and neither does anything in another currency from the move's own.
Shared freight, and corrections that stay
When one container or truckload carries several moves, its freight is shared out across them by volume, weight, chargeable weight or evenly, as you choose, and the shipment keeps its own P&L across the moves on it. Fix a person's hours by hand and the next automatic recalculation leaves your fix alone. If time is recorded on a move but nobody has a rate set, the P&L says so rather than showing you a move that looks cheap. Any overhead recovery you price into a quote is counted as cost too, so the margin is after overhead, not before.
Reading the margin
Quoted against actual, move by move. Across every branch.
The costing view lists every move with what it was sold for, what it was quoted to cost, what it did cost and what has been collected, so the thin ones are found while you can still ask why.
Quoted against actual
Every move carries two margins: the one the quote was built on and the one the costs produced, with the difference between them. A move that ran over several days shows its cost day by day, so you can see which day went wrong.
The thin ones, first
Filter to moves that lost money, moves under 10 percent and moves under 20 percent. Sort, search and narrow by date, status and branch.
Protect the margin up front
Set a minimum margin, per move type if you want, and a quote below it cannot be sent until someone with approval rights signs it off. A deeper cut can be made to need a second approver.
Invoiced, paid, outstanding
Beside the margin sits what has been invoiced, what has been paid and what is still owed; a draft invoice nobody sent does not count as billed. Branches and currencies roll up into one view, converted into a single display currency. Export a move's finances as CSV or PDF when someone outside the system needs them, and name an address to have yesterday's timesheet emailed to you as a CSV each day.
Why it matters
You cannot fix a quote you never checked. This checks every one.
The move is quoted in sales, scheduled in dispatch and worked in the Field app, all on one record, which is why its cost can be added up without anybody rekeying it.
